Tenaris

Redesigning industrial processes to maximize operational efficiency

The challenge

Tenaris operated a complex production system where inefficiencies were hidden within process flows, layout constraints, and resource usage. Without a structural redesign, the operation continued to absorb hidden inefficiencies that impacted cycle times and predictability. The challenge was to improve efficiency from the process design itself, not through isolated operational fixes.

The solution

GIGA IT conducted an end-to-end engineering analysis of the production process, mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and evaluating layout and resource constraints. Using value stream mapping and simulation models, we redesigned operational flows and engineering layouts to optimize resource utilization, reduce cycle times, and eliminate structural inefficiencies. The result was a redefined process architecture with improved flow logic, enabling a more predictable, efficient, and scalable operation ready for execution.

The results

  • Identification and elimination of bottlenecks across critical production flows.
  • Redesigned layouts that improved operational flow and resource utilization.
  • Shorter cycle times through optimized sequencing and streamlined process design.
  • Increased operational efficiency and predictability.
  • A scalable, engineering-driven process design ready to support future operational growth.
Unicef

Redesigning the process at an engineering level allowed us to uncover inefficiencies that were previously invisible. The new layouts and flows gave us a more predictable and efficient operation, built on a solid engineering foundation.
